Building upon the pure shapes of Danse géométrique designs, this series garments incorporates the idea of garment / costume as collage: organic forms, lines, layers, shifting shapes. The garments shift upon facing and movement, in dialogue with various choreographic phrases in the performance. Organic geometries, rather than pure ones, can be found in the bowed V of the Bateau Dress or the fin shape of the Line / Fin Dress.
Pure classic garment shapes such as tunic, skirt, backless dress, tuxedo jacket (harkening to references Charlie Chaplin & Pina Bausch) are reimagined in textural and colorful contrasts.
