The ADG original Scent Trio embodies the concept of olfaction as living theater: elevating moments, intensifying space & time.
They were originally created to experience alongside a performance called The Ball of Living Matter. The scents were designed to intensify the choreography's colors, shapes, moods, rhythms and forms.
ADG scents are sensual and moving, unexpected yet classic, androgynous and discerning. The fragrances are mixed by hand in small quantities in one of the finest historic perfumeries in Grasse France, then assembled in New York. Careful attention is paid to the quality of essences and unique composition of notes.
BLOOD SWEAT TEARS
Composition of addictive essences.
Flowing pulsating, mutating with the essences that keep us keeping on in our daily lives: teas, tobacco, jasmine, ancient fruit. Subtle top notes open up to deep and expressive woody bases. Pungent yet sweet, and hypnotic, it is a portrait of perseverance. Inspired by the gritty soulfulness of the Blues & Yves Klein’s monochromatic blue performances.
Motions of roundness, infinite circles. Barres, empty theaters, the possibility the salinity of sweat.
Blues, grays, beautiful clouds or flowing waters.
"Gutta cavat lapidem - Dripping water hollows stone”
THE GOOD EARTH
Composition of essences valued more than money or precious metals in history.
This scent is a vision of a utopic earth. Uplifting, green, strong: the lushness of a deep forest. The arrangement opens with a bright joyous motion, and is grounded with a full body of rare & precious resins.
Upwards motion; powerful joy. The strength of growing, of blooms, of ripening. Building and planting. The good motion of the earth.
Neon pollen greens, yellows, ochre. A trumpet golden spring exploding.
“The good earth is rich and can provide for everyone. The way of life can be free and beautiful, but we have lost the way. Greed has poisoned men’s souls, has goose-stepped us into misery and bloodshed. Machinery that gives abundance has left us in want. More than machinery, we need humanity. More than cleverness we need kindness and gentleness. Without these qualities, life will be violent, and all will be lost.”
- Charlie Chaplin, The Great Dictator 1942
WILD IS THE WIND
Composition of essences most emotionally captivating.
Seductive, enveloping warmth: a portrait of a dynamic emotion or spirit. Full of movement, this scent is an unexpected and complex arrangement of rosebuds, pine and smoldering muscs.
Base notes of leather and spirits.
The dynamic and mysterious spirit. Surreal, strong. The deep smoldering blaze of fire; the silkiness of smoke.
Young heady roses, fired woods, evergreens. The hint of whiskey, a drop of animalic musc. Dusty dusk, horses.
“Don’t you know your life itself Like a leaf clings to a tree Oh my darling cling to me For we’re creatures of the wind
And wild is the wind So wild is the wind”
-Wild is the Wind, by Dimitri Tiomkin & Ned Washington1957 Inspired by Nina Simone’s version
